Intake and intercooler: The MKV PD100 TDI has a vastly improved intake system compared to the mkIV. The intercooler is now a larger sized front mount intercooler mounted behind the AC condenser. The intake tract is improved with larger piping as well.

Turbo The MkV BRM engine found in the 2005-2006 models uses the KP39 turbo. Stock the boost is approximately 15psi. An aggressive new program may up the boost to between 18psi and 20psi. As of now (summer 2007) there are no bolt on turbo upgrades for the BRM engine. Hopefully Garrett will have a solution soon. -The actuator is vacuum activated (more vacuum = more boost) with an electronic position sensor. Any turbo upgrade should include the position sensor in order to satisfy the ECU's requirements.

Injectors The BRM pd100 injectors support much more power than the stock ALH injectors. Aggressive tunes have exceeded 150hp on stock injectors. It is generally acknowledges that the turbo should be upgraded before new injectors are worthwhile on the PD100 BRM engine.
