B4 Platform

B4 is a facelifted version of the third generation Volkswagen FWD watercooled midsize car platform.

The B4 Passat sedan and station wagon were offered from 1995 to 1997.

1995 Canadian-specification Passats were available with a 1.9L turbodiesel engine, with an engine code of AAZ.

1996-1997 Passats were available with a TDI with engine code 1Z.
